SSC partners with CICT in ischools

The Sorsogon State College will assist eight public high schools in Masbate and Sorsogon as recipients of the ischools project 07 of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology.
SSC joined with the CICT in integrating information communication technology in the curriculum to bridge the digital divide of the country. There are 25 State universities and colleges to assist in the implementation of the project to 320 recipient public high schools nationwide.
The ischools is one of the flagship projects of CICT aims to incorporate ICT in education by providing equipment and trainings.
The equipment includes:
· 21 -computer units
· 3 in 1 printer
· 1 LCD projector
· 2 AC Units
The trainings include:
· CILC for teachers
· Lab mgt for iSchool Lab managers
· Web dev’t
· Library mgt
· Sustainability planning
The project started during a briefing with the ICT Coordinators of the SUCs on July 23-26, 2007 in Tagaytay City. The 25 participants who attended the project briefing were automatically assigned as project coordinators. The project will last until 2010.
